     John Scott married Louemma Campbell on 29 September 1878.9 In the Union Township, Carroll County, Ohio, census dated 15 June 1880, John Scott, shown as John Scott, is listed in the household of William Carlisle Scott IV. His parents were also born in Ohio.11 John Scott survived the death of his mother, Mary Scott, who died on 7 October 1892.2,12,13 John was living in an unknown place . In East Liverpool.4

     John Scott died on 3 September 1901 in Union Township, Carroll County, Ohio, at age 46 of pulmonary consumption. He died Tuesday forenoon at 11 o'clock at the home of his father, Wm. C. Scott in Union township, where he had been visiting and cared for by his dutiful wife for several weeks.3,4,6 He was survived by his wife, together with five children - four boys and one girl.4 He is buried Scott (New) Cemetery, Carroll County, Ohio. Rev. D. Hargest conducted the funeral service. Mr. Scott was a quiet unassuming citizen, highly respected by his associates and friends. At one time a member of the M. E. church, but in recent eyars since marriage was a member of the Presbyterian church.4,6

     OBITUARY: The only son of Ex-Treasurer W. C. Scott, departed this life on Tuesday forenoon, September 3, 1901 aged 46 years and 2 days, from that dreaded lingering ailment, pulmonary consumption; at the Union Township home of his father, where he had been visiting and cared for by his dutiful wife for several weeks. Mr. Scott was a quiet, unassuming citizen, highly respected by his associates and friends. At one time a member of the M. E. Church, but in recent years since marriage we believe was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Was married to Miss Louemma Campbell, September 29, 1878, of which marriage five children survive. Two sons have been employed in the potteries of East Liverpool, where Mr. Scott and family have resided for several years. Funeral today at 10 o'clock. Interment in the Scott graveyard. Rev. David Hargest, officiating minister.14

     Most of his life was spent on his farm in Union township. Later he moved to Carrolton, still later to Canton.

     Charles F. Brooks was born on 9 January 1857 in Union Township, Carroll County, Ohio.2 He was the son of Thomas Brooks and Elizabeth Crozier.2

     Charles F. Brooks married first Sarah Isabelle Scott, daughter of Wilson Scott and Elizabeth A. McClintock, in 1881 in Carroll County, Ohio.2

     Charles F. Brooks's second wife was Mary E. Rutledge. They married after 1887.3

     Charles F. Brooks married Carrie McNutt in 1912.4 Charles F. Brooks was survived by his wife, Carrie.4 He died on 1 December 1929 at Carroll County, Ohio, at age 72. He died of complication of diseases. One of six children, but one sister survives, Mrs. James Tripp, of Carrollton.1 He is buried in the Scott (New) Cemetery located in Monroe Township, Carroll County, Ohio. Funeral services were held at the residence on Tuesday morning at 11:30 and at 2 o'clock in the Methodist Episcopal church in Carrollton. Rev. Lewis and Rev. Herron officiated.5
