     Alexander Marshall died on 5 September 1902 in Union Township, Carroll County, Ohio, at age 16. Pneumonia. He was taken ill about two weeks ago with appendictis from which he was rapidly recovering. Then last week he was taken down with pneumonia which resulted in his death. The services were conducted by Rev. David Hrgest D. D. of Wellsville. Alex was born and reared on the farm on which he died and was the eldest of several children. He was an inductrious and manly lad, who was greatly attached to his parents. He and his father were sonstand companions and each entertained for the other an oaffection which was something remarkable. His death is a sad blow to the parents. pneumonia.2,3

     OBITUARY: Alexander Marshall, a young man of 17 years, was unexpectedly hurried from the walks of life, to the tomb, by that almost insurmountable ailment, appendicitis, on Friday at the home of his father, A. Marshall, Jr., after days of suffering; although the incessant services of Drs. Stockon and Williams were at his bed side with a final operation to save life that tailed. He was the grandson of both Alexander Marshall and William C. Scott, in the latter home he died, with a grievous loss to all three families. One of the best beloved young men of Tabor. Funeral Sunday last. Interment in Scott cemetery.3 He is buried in the Scotts Cemetery located in.3
