Sarah Gorden Landis was born Oct. 8, 1826, on the Maumee river, below Antwep, on the old Gorden farm, thus making her one of the elder settlers of this country. She becamse the wife of John Landis Nov. 4, 1849. Six children were born to them during the years of their happy wedded life. Of these, two sons and a daughter, survived the dear old mother. Deceased was aged 71 years, 3 months, and 5 days. She, with her husband, became members of the Christian church in 1894, and was buried from the lecture room of the new church buildring Saturday morning at 10:30. Partor Speer officiated.
