     Martha Anderson was born on 26 March 1829 in Wayne County, Ohio.2 She was the daughter of James Anderson.2

     Martha Anderson married John W. Bricker, son of John N. Bricker, after 1848.1 In the census of 2 September 1850 in Rome, Seneca County, Ohio, Martha appears in the household of John Bricker as Martha Bricker. She is 21 years old and was born in Ohio.3 On 6 July 1851 their daughter, Mary L. Bricker, was born.4 On 2 September 1858 their son, Frank Bricker, was born.5

     Martha Anderson died on 2 October 1904 at age 75.6 She is buried in the Fountain Cemetery located in Fostoria, Hancock County, Ohio.6 She was survived by her husband, Dr. John W. Bricker, her son, Edward Bricker, her oldest sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Fritcher, and two grandchildren, Miss Thalia Bricker and John Rogers.7,8

Mrs. Bricker was born in Wayne county by came to Fostoria with her parents Mr. and Mrs. James Anderson, when but three years of age. The Anderson home was located where Mayor Cunningham now lives and Mrs. Bricker lived there until her marriage, when she moved across the street spending her entire life from childhood in the one neighborhood. Dr. and Mrs. Bricker were married more than 14 years ago and she was prominent in church and society until failing health made a partial retirement necessary. The deceased has been an invalid for the past eight years, but her death resulted from paralysis, she having suffered a stroke a week ago and a second one on Saturday. Four children were born to Dr. and Mrs. Bricker, but one of whom, Edward survives. She is also survived by her oldest sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Fritcher, and two grandchildren, Miss Thalia Bricker and John Rogers. The funeral occurred at the residence today at 2 o' clock conducted by Dr. J. F. Harshbarger.2
