     John Hughes moved with Esther Mayo and George Hughes in 1834 to Table Grove, Fulton County, Illinois; He arrived October 21, having performed the whole journey with a covered emigrant lumber wagon. He purchased a farm in what was then almost a wilderness, and endured with his family many privations; but patient waiting, with honest integrity and economical industry, brought him the reward of competency and contentment. He was an extensive and successful farmer.1

     John Hughes was born on 1 June 1834.1 He was the son of George Hughes and Esther Mayo.1

     John Hughes died after 1850.1

     Frances Patterson was born before 1820.1

     Frances Patterson married Henry Freeman Hughes, son of Freeman Hughes and Abigail Whedon, in 1836 in New York.1

     In 1837, Henry and Frances moved to Michigan. They settled on a farm in Calhoun County. Eventually moved to Bellevue, Michigan.1

     John Butler married Almira Hughes, daughter of Freeman Hughes and Abigail Whedon, on 25 February 1834.1 In 1835, John and Almira moved to Medina, Ohio.1 In 1836, John and Almira moved to Hancock County.1 They had eight children: Mary Abigail; 28 August 1836, Cyrus Freeman; 7 August 1838, Celestia; 5 January 1841, Charles Wilson; 5 December 1842, Jane Ann; 31 May 1845, Emma; 13 November 1848, and Ester A; 14 December 1853.1 In 1860, John moved to Adair, McDonough County, Illinois.1

     Cyrus Fordyee married Permelia Hughes, daughter of Freeman Hughes and Abigail Whedon, on 16 April 1835.1 In after 1835, Cyrus and Permelia were living in Table Grove, Fulton County, Illinois.1 They had four children: John Freeman 29 March 1836, Mary Abigail 4 Febrary 1841, George Hughes 26 August 1844, Lucretia Esther 3 November 1848.1

     Joseph Tuttle was born on 18 July 1734.2 He was the son of Noah Tuttle and Rachael Hoadley.1

     Joseph Tuttle married Mary Granger, daughter of Daniel Granger and Abigail Dennison, in 1761.3 He suffered considerable loss in the Revolutionary War. On this day, the British landed a force below Fort Hale, on the east side of the harbor. Captured the Fort and marched over Tuttle's Hill. They plundered the inhabitants, perpetrated many cruelties. They burned several building in the line of their march; among which was his house.4

Also on the ship was Richard's wife, Ann, and their family, William's wife, Elizabeth, age 23, and Williams' three children, John, age 3 1/2 years, Anna, 2 1/2 years, and Tomas, age eight months. William was then only twenty-six. The brothers were wealthy for the time, and had been merchants and land owners in England. They were affiliated with Reverend John Davenport's flock in 1635, but were equally interested in trade opportunities in the New World.2,3

     Ann was born circa 1594.1

     Ann married Richard Tuttle, son of Symon Tuttle and Isabel Wells.1 Ann and Richard Tuttle immigrated in 1635 to Boston, Massachusetts.
