By Ernest Holt: He was drafted into the Army during World War II. He was wounded with shot in the shoulder at St. Lo. After the war was over and before he could leave England, he started his schooling in that country in a school of design. After discharge he continued his schooling under the G I bill at a school of design in Chicago, along with schooling in photography. Later he married a Jean Timan of the area of Washington, then he was employed as a teacher in Indiana University. In 1951 he migrated to California where he worked for the Douglas Air Craft Corp. in design of layout. Still later he was highly recommended as a teacher of Photography at San Francisco University, where he took a position and taught for two years. Bob and Jean had one daughter Susan, born in 1950, and when he was finishing his second year at S.F.U., he told Jean that he didn't love her, wanted a divorce... just prior to the birth of their second daugher. they obtained the divorce and Jean after second child was born returned to her parent home in Miami, Florida. Robert was being refused tenure at SFU without a certain degree. so Tulane University offered him a position where he could teach and finish requirement for this degree. Masters, I believe. He taught there two years, and about the end married again. Two children were born to this marriage. He moved to Milwaukee where he worked with some firms in their department of design, where he died in 1958 with a heart seizure.

Robert Hall was born in 1924 in Decatur, Illinois. He was the son of Thomas Hall and Agretha May Jolliff.

Robert Hall died in 1958 in Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin.
