M, b. 1785
FatherDrury Holt b. b 1765, d. 16 Feb 1835
MotherElizabeth Rogers b. 1765, d. c May 1852
I have found no sources that state Thomas Holt is a son of Drury and Elizabeth. In fact the book History of Texas, does not list Thomas or Henry H. Holt as sons of Drury. However, Thomas Holt is living near Drury Holt in 1830 and near Elizabeth Holt in 1840 and 1840.

Thomas Holt was born in 1785 in Virginia.1 He was the son of Drury Holt and Elizabeth Rogers.

Thomas Holt married Cinthy Waters on 8 March 1810 in Wayne County, Kentucky. In 1810, Wayne County was very close to Knox County. Whitley County was formed from Knox County in 1818.3 Thomas Holt is listed in the U. S. Military Records on 1 September 1812 at Kentucky. Shown on roll of Captain James McNeils' Company, 2nd Regiment. Failed to attend and march.4 He was shown on the 1826 tax list in Whitley County, Kentucky. No totals given. Also listed are Drewry Holt, John Holt, and John Gray.5 He was shown on the 1828 tax list in Whitley County, Kentucky. One white male over 21 and one horse.6 He was shown on the 1829 tax list in Whitley County, Kentucky. One white male over 21.7 He was shown on the 1830 tax list in Whitley County, Kentucky. One white male over 21.7

In the 1830 census at Whitley County, Kentucky, Thomas Holt, shown as Thomas Holt, was listed as a head of a family. He is between 40 and 50 and living near Drury Holt. Also living in his household is an unknown female between 5 and 10, one between 10 and 15, one between 15 and 19 and one between 60 and 70. Two unknown males are also living in this household, one between 15 and 20 years old and one between 10 and 15 years old. It is assumed that the female between 60 and 70 is Elizabeth Holt, Drury Holt's wife and assumed to be Thomas Holt's mother. The seven children are assumed to be theirs. Based on ages, it is possible that the following were also living in the household, Lifus Holt, males under 5 years old, Daniel Holt, a male age 10 to 15 years old, John (assumed) Holt, a male age 15 to 20 years old, Martha Holt, a female under 5 years old, Cinthy Waters, a female age 30 to 40 years old.8 Thomas Holt was shown on the 1835 tax list in Watercourse - Marsh, Whitley County, Kentucky. One white male over 21. He is listed on the Tax List from 1830 to 1835.7 He was shown on the 1840 tax list in Watercourse - Marsh, Whitley County, Kentucky. One white male over 21 and five children between the ages of 5 and 16. He is listed on the Tax List from 1835 to 1840.7

Thomas Holt, shown as Thomas Holt, was listed as a head of a family on the 1840 census Whitley County, Kentucky. He is between 50 and 60 and living near Robert and John Holt. Also living in his household is one unknown male under 5 and another one between 5 and 10 and one unknown female between 10 and 15. Based on ages, it is possible that the following were also in this household, Lifus Holt, a male age 10 to 15 years old, Elizabeth Holt, a female age 5 to 10 years of age, Martha Holt, a female age 10 to 15 years old, Cinthy Waters, a female age 40 to 50 years old.9 Thomas Holt was shown on the 1843 tax list in Watercourse - Marsh, Whitley County, Kentucky. One white male over 21, owns one horse and has two children between the ages of 5 and 16. He is listed on the Tax List from 1840 to 1843.7 Reminder - Pick a Role; He is 65 years old and was born in Virginia. He is living near Elizabeth Holt, age 83. Living in this household are several children assumed to be theirs.10 Joseph Stephen, Elisha Stephens, and Gidian Gilreath were appointed by the county court to review and appraise the personal estate of Elizabeth Holt. Items sold were purchased by various individuals including Thomas Holt, Joseph Ryan, Solomon Stephens, Rachel Neal, John Ross, Wm. King, Christopher Cox, George D. Davenport, Drury Ryan, Joseph Stephens, Daniel Strunk, James Sharp, and Joshua Stephens.11 In the census of 27 July 1860 at March Creek, Whitley County, Kentucky, Thomas Holt, shown as Thos Holt, appears as a head of household which includes the following household members. He is 75 years old and was born in Tennessee. He ia farmer with a personal estate of $50. He is living with a Nancy Holt, age 27 along with four children. Elizabeth Holt 11, Noah Holt 7, Lifus Holt 5, Simantha Holt 4. Personal Estate Value: 50. Occupation: Farmer. All born in Kentucky, except Thos born in Tennessee. Living next to Lifus Holt family, age 23, Ruth, age 23, Thos, age 6 months.12

It must have been soon after Charles' birth that grandpa decided to move to Alma, NM. A former neighbor, who was a Mormon, had settled there. He and grandpa corresponded and he persuaded grandpa to follow. They started from Independence, Missouri in the spring and it took 6 months to make the trip on the Santa Fe Trail. It is known that they stopped in NM for a month.

On the way to Alma, NM, they crossed the Rio Grande just above Socorro. The Rio Grande was then known as the Great River and the crossing was known as the Spanish crossing. They settle in Alma. Grandma said the ranchers fought Geronimo and when there was a burial in the cemetary after a skirmish, the young men would keep guard during the burial. Grandma said one day while they were eating dinner she looked up and saw Indians at the door and all the windows. Fortunately they were friendly and wanted salt.

Grandpa's oldest son by his first wife was name Isham and lived at the ranch for a time. He was known as 'big ice" and Isham Ryan Holt, Grandma's Lydia son was known as "Little Ice". Grandpa, Isham Right Holt, was known as Judge Holt. One of the high peaks in the Mogollon Mountains was name Holt Mountain. On the highway a short distance north of Pleasonton, there is also a Holt Gulch.
Some of this information was found in "Ryan Roots" by Rebecca Sidwell.

Zoe Alexandrine Semonin immigration with her parents in 1834 at New York; They came from a sunny vineyard slope near Marseilles in France. John Semonin left for America after middle age; bringing his little slip of a wife with him. By shrewd trading and frugal living, he accumulated property and a grown-up family, without any education worth speaking of himself.5 In 1836, Zoe Alexandrine Semonin moved with her parents to New Albany, Indiana.6

"Mallmore" to Zoe Semonin at Peter Semonin's house. The groom is 26 years old and the bride is 23. They are both born in France. C. T. Sandefure is shown as the Surety.10,11 On 10 January 1862 their son, Joseph C. Malloure, was born in Hopkinsville, Christian County, Kentucky; It is possible that Joseph was born in Henderson, even though his death certificate says Hopkinsville. His parents were married in Henderson and his father during the Civil War enlisted and was captured in Henderson within a year after his birth. There is no record of them ever going to Hopkinsville. Joseph was raised as a Catholic.12 When her son, Joseph, was six months old, her husband, Giemet, enlisted in the Confederate Army. About a year later, he was captured in Henderson, Kentucky and taken to Johnson's Island Prison in Sandusky, Ohio. He spent nearly two years there before being released. It is not known what happened to him afterwards, but the family believed that he died in the war.13

Zoe Malloure, shown as Zoere Millmitte, was listed as the head of household in the U. S. Census on 13 June 1870 at Evansville, Vandenburgh County, Indiana, which included the following household members; Sallie Combe, Joseph Millmitte and Lizer Bonvery. In this census she is 37 years old and is listed as "at home widow". She was born in France and can read and write. Living next to this household and perhaps they are all living together, is her sister and brother-in-law, Adaline and John Tisserand.14

Zoe is listed is the Evansville Directory from 1876-1881 as a widow living at 304 Oakley Street. She is not listed from 1864 to 1871. In 1878 Joseph Malloure is also listed as a cloth baler at the Evansville Cotton Manuf. Co. This is the same company that John Tisserand is shown as foreman in 1868. In the census of 8 June 1880 in Evansville, Vandenburgh County, Indiana, she is listed as the daughter of Jane Semonin. Her name appears as Sue Millord. Zoe is 45 years old and was born in France, as were her parents. Also living with her in this household is her son Jos., age 18.15

The Morning Hearald, 15 December 1896: BY GUNPOWDER: Mrs. Zoe Malloure and Her Grandson, Victims of an Accident at Paducah. Paducah. Dec. 12 - George Hannon, aged 16 years, bought a fruit jar of gunpowder to be used on Christmas. Last night while transferring it into a powder horn the jar was knocked over and broken. Mrs. Zoe Malloure, his aged grandmother, while picking it up, was perhaps fatally burned, a spark falling in the pile. Her clothing was torn off, but the skin and flesh are peeled from her face and breast, and it is thought her eyes are impaired. She is 61 years old. The boy's hands were both burned so that it will be many days before he can use them.16

In the census of 11 June 1900 in Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky, she is listed in the household and as the mother of Sallie Hannon. Her name appears as Zoe L. Malloure. In this census, she is shown as 55 years old with a birth date of March 1845. Her birth location is given as France, as are her parents.      Newspaper articles from the Paducah Sun: January 17, 1901: Mrs. Malloure comes near being killed in I. C. Freight Yards. A switch engine in the Illinois Central freight yard came near killing Mrs. Joe Malloure, who resides on Campbell street, near Sixth, about 6 o'clock last evening. She was on her way home with a basket and several bundles, apparently paying no attention to the approaching engine and box cars. She was knocked down between the rails and two of the cars and a portion of the engine passed over her, but with the excepted of a mashed foot she escaped injury. Dr. Williamson was called and dressed the injury. It is the second escape Mrs. Malloure has had near the same place. About two years ago she deliberately walked in front of a switch engine and would have been killed had not a switchman on the front end of the engine reached over and pushed her off the track. She is quite old, and is well known about town.

21 Jan. 1901: Amputation Necessary. Mrs. Zoe Malloure loses her left foot. Mrs. Zoe Malloure, the aged lady, of Campbell street who was struck by a switch engine on North Sixth street one evening last week, and had such a narrow escape, will have her left foot amputated this afternoon at 3 o'clock, gangrene having set in. Her foot was mashed by the car wheels. Dr. Williamson will perform the operation.

17 Nov. 1902. Mrs. Zoie Malloure Received $2500 from the Illinois Central. The suit of Mrs. Joie Malloure against the Illinois Central railroad for $10,000 damaged for the loss of a leg was compromised this morning, the company paying $2,500 and the costs of the suit. Mrs. Malloure is a well known old lady who resides on Tremble street near Sixth and was run over a the Sixth street crossing a year or two ago by some freight cars and had a leg cut off. Suit was brought in federal court and finally settled today. Mr. W. J. Semonin, county clerk of Jefferson county, and a nephew of the plaintiff, was here in the case and returned this morning to Louisville.17,18,19

Zoe Alexandrine Semonin died on 12 August 1909 in Paducah, McCracken County, Kentucky, at age 76; Bethal Malloure remembers hearing that Zoe eventually went blind.20
