FatherErnst Diedrich Piepenbrink b. 5 Feb 1802, d. 11 Sep 1854
MotherIlse Marie Christine Sophie Witte b. 8 Oct 1807, d. bt 1847 - 1850
Christian Piepenbrink was born on 21 October 1847 in Indiana.2 He was the son of Ernst Diedrich Piepenbrink and Ilse Marie Christine Sophie Witte. Christian Piepenbrink survived the death of his mother, Ilse Marie Christine Sophie Witte, who died. In the census of 19 November 1850 in Adams Township, Allen County, Indiana, Christian appears in the household of Ernst Pepenbrink as Christina Pepenbrink. He is three years old and was born in Indiana. His name is shown as Christina and his sex female, but this is incorrect. There is a birth ceritifcate for Christian Piepenbrink, born 1847, parents Ernest Piepenbrink and Sophie Witte.3

Christian may be the Christian Pepenbrink, age 21, born Prussia working as a laborer and living with Peter and Charlott Ponga, ages 32 and 25, both born in France. They are living near Henry W. Muller and Charlotte (Muller) Pepenbrink, his stepbrother and stepmother and Christian Piepenbrink, age 64. Also living nearby is Conrad Piepebrink, assumed son of Christian Piepenbrink.

Christian Piepenbrink married Mary Boese, daughter of Frederick Boese and Sophia (?), on 1 May 1873 in Ft. Wayne, Allen County, Indiana.4,5 Pick a role; Christian is 33 years old and was born in Indiana. Also in his household is Mary, age 26, wife, Ida, age 6, daughter, and Otto, age 2, son. They are living on Holman street and Christain is working as a clerk in a store. Christian is shown as Chr and as being born in Prussia as was his parents. Mary is shown as being born in Hanover, as was her parents.6

He was the deputy in the county treasurer's office at one time as stated in his sister's obituary.7 Christian Piepenbrink survived the death of his sister, Luise Charlotte Elisabeth Piepenbrink, who died in April 1895 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana.8 Christian Piepenbrink survived the death of his brother, Carl Heinrich Friedrich Conrad Piepenbrink, who died on 1 May 1917 in Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana.9

Christian Piepenbrink died on 27 April 1920 in Wayne Township, Allen County, Indiana, at age 72.2 He was survived by by his wife, Mary.2

Conrad Piepenbrink1,2

M, b. 3 October 1818, d. 3 May 1897
Conrad Piepenbrink was also known as Joh Friedrich Conrad Piepenbrink. I believe this is his birth record. The birth day is off by one year from his obituary, but the day and month are the same. Also Conrad's will states his name as J. Conrad and the census records indicates Conrad was born in Prussia. He is also living near other Piepenbrinks from Windheim.3

Conrad Piepenbrink was born on 3 October 1818 in Prussia. I did not find a birth record for Conrad in Germany. I thought he might be a son of Johann and Ilse and the brother to Ernst because (1) his birth date fits with the family, (2) he is living next to Ernst Piepenbrink in 1850, and (3) he is living next to two of Ernst's children, Elisabeth Boese and Christian Piepenbrink, in 1860. However, another brother to Ernst goes by the name of Conrad, so it seems unlikely that two brothers would be called Conrad. He is most likely a couisn. There is a Christian Piepenbrink living near Ernst and Conrad at this time, so I am making the assumption, without any proof, that they are father and son.4

Conrad Piepenbrink married Wilhelmina Horstmeyer on 3 August 1849 in Allen County, Indiana.2 Reminder - Pick a Role; Conrad, 34, farmer, Wilhelmina, 32, both born Prussia. Sophia 9, Henry 8, William, 4, Wilhelmina, 2. All born in Indiana. Living next to Charlotte and Peter Ponga. Living with the Ponga's is Christian Piepenbrink, age 21. I believe Christian is actually 13 and Ernst Piepenbrink's son. In the census of 1870 in Adams, Allen County, Indiana, Conrad Piepenbrink is listed as the head of household which included the following household members. This family appears as Papenbring on ancestry.com, Papenbring, Coowrod, age 51 in the 1870 Census. Also in this household is Mina, age 42, Henry, age 17, Sophia, age 19, Wm., age 14, Mina, age 11, Elizabeth, age 9, Louis, age 5, and Mary, age 2. In the census of June 1880 at Fort Wayne, Allen County, Indiana, Conrad Piepenbrink, shown as Conrad Pepenbunk, appears as a head of household. Living with him is his wife, Wilhelmina Horstmeyer, his sons, William Piepenbrink and Louis Piepenbrink, his daughters, Elizabeth Piepenbrink, Mary Piepenbrink and Wilhilmino Piepenbrink. He is 62 years old and was born in Prussia, as were his parents. He is working as a farmer.5

Conrad Piepenbrink died on 3 May 1897 at age 78.4 He is buried in the Martini Lutheran Cemetery located in River Haven, Allen County, Indiana.4
