     John Bricker was born in 1831 in Richland County, Ohio.^1,2 He was the son of Jacob Bricker and Sophia Gongwer. In the 1840 census in Franklin Township, Richland County, Ohio, John Bricker is assumed to be enumerated with Sophia Gongwer.³

     John Bricker married Mary Catherine Shedenhelm, daughter of Levi Shedenhelm and Margaret Elizabeth Rosenberger, on 6 April 1856.² John Bricker survived the death of his wife, Mary Catherine Shedenhelm, who died on 29 August 1857.⁴

     John Bricker's second wife was Elizabeth Jane Shedenhelm, daughter of Levi Shedenhelm and Margaret Elizabeth Rosenberger. They married on 29 September 1858. Mrs. Isabelle M. Bricker expires - Funeral to be held tomorrow. A stroke of paralysis suffered last May caused the death of Mrs. Isabelle M. Bricker, 86 in her home on the Fostoria road yesterday morning. Mrs. Bricker was well known in Washington Township. The funeral will be held at the home at 10:30 tomorrow morning with Rec. C.E. Longbrake officiating. Interment will take place in the Arcadia cemetery.
Mrs. Bricker was born August 14 1841, the daughter of Jacob and Margaret Wyant. She was married in 1866 to Nicholas Bricker, who preceded her in death. Two children were born to the union, one of whom survives. He is Charles W. Bricker, whose home is on the Fostoria road. A daughter is dead. Dr. L. J. Cooke, Findlay optometrist, is a nephew. Mrs. Bricker was a member of the United Brethren Church.⁶ She is buried Arcadia Cemetery, Arcadia, Hancock County, Ohio.⁶
